How to use Sign Shop feature

TIP: If you cannot find an item name directly like a modded item for an example. You can do /iteminfo

ChestShop is a plugin that allows players to buy and sell items through chest-based shops. This guide covers everything you need to know about setting up and using ChestShops as a player.

Step 1: Place a Chest

  • Find a suitable location and place a chest (or trapped chest if you want to link multiple shops together).

Step 2: Place a Sign

  • Place a sign directly above or on the chest.

  • Format the sign as follows:

    [Your Minecraft Username]
    Quantity of Item
    Price Format
    Item Name or ID

Example: If you want to sell 16 diamonds for $100, the sign should be:

    PlayerName
    16
    B 100
    Diamond
    • B = Buy (Players buy from your shop)

    • S = Sell (Players sell to your shop)

    • B/S = Buy & Sell (Both options available)

Example of a Buy & Sell shop:

    PlayerName
    16
    B 100:50 S
    Diamond
    • This means players can buy 16 diamonds for $100 or sell 16 diamonds for $50.

Step 3: Stock the Chest

  • Place the items you’re selling inside the chest.

  • If players are selling to your shop, ensure there is empty space in the chest.

Step 4: Test the Shop

  • Right-click the sign to ensure it works correctly.

  • If there is an issue, double-check the sign format and item availability.

Buying and Selling Items

Buying Items

  • Right-click the shop sign to purchase the listed item.

  • Ensure you have enough money in your balance.

Selling Items

  • Left-click the shop sign to sell the listed item.

  • Ensure you have the correct item in your inventory.

Checking Shop Information

  • Use the command: /shopinfo

  • Right-click the sign while sneaking to see stock and pricing details.

Common Issues and Fixes

  • "Shop is out of stock" → The chest has no items left. The owner must restock.

  • "You don't have enough money" → Check your balance with /balance.

  • "No space in chest" → If selling, the chest must have empty slots.

  • "Invalid item" → Ensure the correct item name or ID is used.
